Ok, I have been up since 5.30am and while I sit hear I am watching the Artic Monkeys play ‘Come Together’ as people on bikes with giant wings
peddle around the stadium – apparently they are . The athlete’s parade has just finished and I was split, 3 ways. You see I may have expressed before I (although Australian) do not consider myself Australian, the only reason I am is because I was born here. In fact I feel more pride with my ethnic heritage than my born and bread roots.
As the lovely chart displays, this is me.
Half Australian, a quarter English and a quarter New Zealand.
So even though I will be barracking for the Australian’s, I will also be cheering for England and New Zealand.
My favourite part of the opening ceremony was the sign language choir and CHARIOTS OF FIRE with MR. BEAN!!!!!!!!! and also ALL the pop culture references, although I am still waiting for The Doctor to show up.
Even with the Olympic’s starting, I really cannot wait till the Paralympics and especially Murderball!
